The only night Downhill race in Singapore is back!

Date: Saturday, 18th May 2013
Venue: Pearl’s Hill City Park
Applications close: Thursday, 25th April 2013

The race will take place on the 18th of May 2013 at Pearl’s Hill City Park and it’s set to be a course filled with stairs, jumps, rock gardens and a 10 foot drop into the abyss. With the final run set to start in darkness, riders will ride the course guided only with lights on their helmets or bikes.

Registration was started early this month and some of the riders that we know have already gotten their invitation letters (sort of like the yellow ticket in American Idol) in the snail mail. For those who did not get to race, you will wanna be there. Trust me, it’s one hulleva spectacle. There’s also gonna be a screening of “Where the Trail Ends” and this bike movie kicks ass! Oh yeah, we hope to see some hot Red Bull chicks too 😀

Okay, back to the race, according to the official website, the qualification run for the 100 Open Category riders will begin at 4.30pm where only the top 20 fastest times will qualify. These 20 riders from the open category will then join the 40 elite riders after a series of seeding runs to compete in the top 60 shootout. And who are the 40 elite riders? We have no idea but we hope Red Bull is gonna bring in some big names into our tiny island.

So that’s it. We’ll see you on the 18th of May at Pearls Hill Park and here’s a few links for the location and the race course.
